Thanksgiving Break
November 27th, 2005 by rickOkay, so in the spirit of what everyone else in the blogosphere is doing (trust me, I have to read the entire thing each week as part of my job) I’ll post a short list of things for which I’m thankful in absolutely no order.
- Healthy Baby on the way in 18 days or so.
- Healthy/caring wife (with the exception of the baby inside of her which augments both of those traits).
- Healthy/caring family (mother, father and sister who is also pregnant).
- Enough financial resources to get what is necessary and live a good life.
- Good friends both online and off.
- Having enough skill and other desirable traits in order to acquire and maintain gainful employment.
- God’s gift of His son and my salvation through Him.
That’s enough for now… I surely have many other things to be thankful for but neither you nor I have the time for me to elaborate on that.
Thanksgiving break was uneventful, but for those interested, here’s what I did:
- Helped my wife work on her new website that she will use for blogging, ranting, pushing animals on people, etc. I love her so much.
- Made (well, my wife made most of it, but yeah) turkey, stuffing, corn, green beans, mashed potatos, deviled eggs, red velvet cake and peanut butter cookies… and then proceeded, between the two of us, to consume basically the entire meal in 2-3 sittings.
- Coded a bit on the mud (multi-user dungeon) that I play on (well, now I code for them rather than play).
- Worked my somewhat new (been doing it for about a month) part-time job for a good bit of hours.
- Watched the new Harry Potter movie.
Again, I’m sure I did more, but no need to really go into every tiny detail.
There are 18 days (give or take a few) until I am officially a father. I’m still not scared. I wonder why; maybe I’ll be scared once she’s here.
